Erica is Kanienkehá:ke from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory where she sits with the Wolf Clan. She is learning to speak her language, and enjoys travelling to other Haudenosaunee communities as she gathers knowledge about Onkwehón:we history and culture. Erica works for Ojibiikaan Indigenous Cultural Network, a Toronto-based non-profit dedicated to Indigenous Food Sovereignty and building urban community and culture. OICN has several community gardens, including a traditional Three Sisters mound garden planted near the grindstone at Crawford Lake in partnership with Conservation Halton.
